Xtrackers II EUR Overnight Rate Swap (Acc) is a money market ETF from Xtrackers tracking the €STR (overnight rate) index through synthetic replication. Domiciled in Luxembourg and launched in 2007, the fund manages about 22 bn € and charges a TER of 0.10% — 10 € per year on a €10,000 investment. Income is automatically reinvested in the fund (accumulating).
Xtrackers II EUR Overnight Rate Swap (Acc) competes with 13 other products in the same asset class (Money market): it ranks 1st by fund size and 4th by ongoing cost, with a TER of 0.10% against a group median of 0.10%. It has been listed since 2007, 19 years of track record — the oldest in its comparison group.
On a €10,000 investment the TER costs 10 € a year, against 10 € for the median product in the category.
Replication is synthetic: a swap counterparty undertakes to deliver the index return. This usually tightens tracking, and introduces counterparty risk, which UCITS rules limit through collateral.
Income is accumulated: no distribution is paid out, the share price absorbs it. In a savings plan this removes the need to reinvest dividends by hand. The fund is denominated in EUR. That is not the same as currency risk: the exposure comes from the currencies of the underlying holdings, not from the denomination or the trading currency of a given listing.
The fund is domiciled in Luxembourg, which determines the tax treatment of income received by the fund and the supervisory authority.
