iShares Core MSCI World (Acc) is a equity ETF from iShares tracking the MSCI World index through physical (sampling) replication. Domiciled in Ireland and launched in 2009, the fund manages about 123.9 bn € and charges a TER of 0.20% — 20 € per year on a €10,000 investment. Income is automatically reinvested in the fund (accumulating).
iShares Core MSCI World (Acc) competes with 26 other products on the same index (MSCI World): it ranks 1st by fund size and 14th by ongoing cost, with a TER of 0.20% against a group median of 0.20%. It has been listed since 2009, 17 years of track record.
On a €10,000 investment the TER costs 20 € a year. The cheapest of the group is Invesco MSCI World UCITS ETF EUR at 0.05%, or 5 € on the same amount: a difference of 15 € every year, roughly 150 € over ten years before compounding.
Replication is physical by sampling: the fund holds a representative subset chosen to track the index while containing transaction costs — standard practice on very broad indices.
Income is accumulated: no distribution is paid out, the share price absorbs it. In a savings plan this removes the need to reinvest dividends by hand. The fund is denominated in USD. That is not the same as currency risk: the exposure comes from the currencies of the underlying holdings, not from the denomination or the trading currency of a given listing.
Irish domicile lets the fund apply the Ireland–US tax treaty, with 15% withholding instead of 30% on US dividends received by the fund.
